Greetings all,
Please don't all jump on me if this is an inappropriate question...am new to the Tivo generation, just say, "Sorry, question not acceptable" and leave it at that. I'll learn in time what I can and can't ask the group.
Ok, to start off, I just got a Pioneer DVR-810H, added Tivo Plus and link to the service through broadband connection. I gotta say that this little toy is really kicking when it come to user friendly and user fun. I originally got the DVR to archive VHS tapes before they degraded too badly and decided to try the Tivo function anyway. I had always heard the down side of Tivo and I'm guessing that progress has jumped since then, because I can't find any downside to this fantastic system. I've caught more shows by just browsing the alphabet listings then looking in the TV guide.
Just wondering if anyone knows about the Pioneer and what it may be capable of doing? I'm not asking for any illegal hacks, just possibly some enhancement stuff that a semi-novice could achive.
Thanks
Steve

This isn't the ideal place to look for instructions for hacking Series 2 TiVoes. Keep hitting Google...
As for fitting a hard drive, you can fit a 300Gb unit if you like. See Hindale's post at the top of the Upgrade Centre.
I don't know why you find opening a PC stressful. It's always that moment between hitting the power switch and (hopefully) seeing the monitor light up that makes me sweat!

I have had the 810H for sometime and have not found any useful hacks as of yet for my unit. Not interested in doing most of the modifications that are out there currently due to no real need. I figured why try to fix/upgrade something that is not broken. Im sure one day Ill through in a new Hard Drive or some sort of networking with my computer but that is in the future.
Glad to see you on board and Welcome to the Tivo Community!
