If you install the network card in a series 1 and dont sub to the service, and you change the dial prefix to access the network card will you be able to get the guide info thru the dsl/cablemodem or will it just act as a quicker connection than the phone line? just wondering

It's just a quicker connection.. You must still subscribe to the service to be able to get the guide data.
