Different behavior between AVS and TC

Weird behavior or else I've got something set wrong...

When I post a reply at TC, most of the time, I get shoved to the top of the page (set to 40 posts/page). At AVS, I get set to *my* post (the bottom of the thread). What the heck would do this?

I suspect the answer is 'I dunno', but I thought I'd bring it up. :D

Well lets see...how are you posting? For when I just made this post, it took me to my post as it does on AVS. Are your settings the same?

Posted by: leesweet

Usually do 'quick reply'. At AVS it puts me at the 'bottom' (end of thread). :) What the heck setting would move you to top of page? :) It's not a *big* deal, as a ctrl-End does the trick, but it's a puzzler with both boards on the same softwaree, allegedly...

I would jsut open your user CP on both sites and look at your settings side by side. As mentioned...both work for me just fine so it is a setting or something on your machine like a cookie issue.

Did that, same except for trivials like sig/equipment.

Other oddity is them I go to PM and I refresh and the 'new PM' box comes up, the PM *doesn't come up. I have to go to PMs and actually open the sucker.

Stranger and stranger. Maybe I'll purge all cookies and see.....

I would guess that this is the issue with occasionally being taken to the wrong first unread post in certain threads that others have reported. But if Lee is experiencing this behavior with replies in all threads and not just a few, then it's a different issue.

Yeah, I *think* it's all the time. But life recently has *been* the HD TiVo preorder thread! :D :D
