Wow. What a political episode of southpark. spoilers.

Best lines: "Whoa, this is gay, gayer then the orgie!" "Ok everyone, back on the pile!"

It was about immigrants from the future taking peoples jobs, i think it was a little bit mean, but ture none the less.

I am not too sure which side they supported. It seems they made fun of both, and went back and forth the entire episode :)

That's what is so great about Southpark, they make fun of everyone.

It seems like more this season than usual, they're doing that, and sitting on the fence rather than being super offensive to any one group or issue. My memory might be fuzzy, but I seem to remember earlier episodes, they weren't afraid of offending someone, and didn't make too hard an attempt to be equal opportunity offenders. With this one, and the MJ one last week, it seems like they're trying to be even handed with their offense, and that's a little offensive. :)

Still a good episode.

I agree with bobjohnson, and I think they've been pulling their punches this season, and most of last season as well. They get all set up to make complete fun of someone, or something, and then drop the ball (or set it aside). Or they spend the entire episode on both sides of the fence.

However - they did succeed in something else. This is only the second time that they've managed to get me to wince in disgust. Now - that's not a bad thing mind you. Their stated objective is to offend everyone on the planet at least once, and frankly, I've been feeling ignored recently. But now, for the first time in years, a nice, visual image, that I simply wish I had *never* seen. I mean seriously, I just didn't need that right before going to bed! Congratulations - Job well done!

I liked the return of Cartman's "busting my balls" negotiating tactics.

I wish I could type out phonetically the way the rednecks kept saying

"They took our jobs!"

It had to be said exactly a certain way!

This has been a very disappointing season for me. South Park has lost its edge.

I disagree completely. Matt and Trey have always taken any opportunity to make fun of stupidity regardless of which political platform the stupidity belonged to. If they seem to hold a political persuasion at all, it is libertarianism in that they don't like either political party destroying our freedoms.

For the best example of them showing "both sides," see also season seven, ep 4 "I'm a Little Bit Country."

IIRC, when the woman counteroffered $5 to Cartman's $6000, didn't he respond: "Could you relax the grip on my balls?" Yes, I laughed at that, too. :) :D

They got a laugh out of me when they used the old IBM PC "linedraw" OEM characters for the big sign in Little Future.

I actually attempted to decode the sign and see if there was some hidden message, but I gave up when I realized that two of the characters weren't actual linedraw characters:

0xD1 0xB5 ???? 0xBD 0x20 0xCF ???? 0xB7 0xBD

╤╡?╜ ╧?╖╜

I suppose the unknown characters might be shrunken (and oddly aligned) versions of 0xBA and 0xCD, respectively, but that's a bit of a stretch:

0xD1 0xB5 0xBA 0xBD 0x20 0xCF 0xCD 0xB7 0xBD

╤╡║╜ ╧═╖╜

Oh well. I suppose there might still be a simple substitution cipher in there, but I doubt it.

Stare at one of the symbols in Spire's posting for 10 seconds, then move your eyes to the blank space to the right and the symbols are still there! Weird.

Where was big gay al during this episode and I'm tired of not seeing chef!

That's also the episode Cartman set his TiVo to record some show, Terrance and Philip maybe, forgot what it was, but nice plug for TiVo. :)

Take the ascii codes for the linedraw characters, subtract 0x7F to get them into the A-Z range, convert to letters, then rot-13 and you get:

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
We took yer jerbs!!!! :-p

And of course the whole big about Global Warming was great.

Actually I like them going back and forth on an issue. I like that they are not trying to tell me how to think. I like that they try to shoot holes in both sides of an argument.

I also like how they try to make a new way of looking at something. It kinda takes a few seconds for people's prejudges to catch up to the topic at hand.
