I'm trying to decide if I will get a second SD TiVo to avoid using up space on the HD TiVo to hold SD material.

From my earlier stand-alone TiVo and my HD TiVo, I don't see a way to determine disk usage. Is there a way?

I know you're asking about doing this via the menu... the answer is no. You could do it manually though... :)

The unscientific way is to let it record suggestions and keep your eye on them. If you had 20 suggestions and you see it dropping to 10, then 5, etc... you know you're running low on space since they get deleted first.

Also, when you setup seasons passes setup realistic limits for max # of copies to keep etc. Then if others in your house don't see fit to delete programs the Tivo will do it when it needs to. Just be careful doing it this way otherwise you could lose something you haven't seen yet! :)
