Season 3 of "24" *spoilers*

My wife and I loved Season 1...couldn't get to the next episode fast enough. We thought Season 2 was mediocre, and Season 3 has felt like a chore to watch.

As of last night, we still had 7 unwatched episodes! My wife threw in the towel and said, "Let's delete 'em, and cancel the SP."

Well, home today with a stomach bug, I decided to watch one more and make my decision."

*Spoilers below*

It's the episode where Julia narcs on Sherry, and Jack kills Nina.
Wow! What an episode. So I watched the next one, and at the end, the virus goes off. So it seems it's back to the good old days.

I wonder what it was about the first part of the season that seemed so boring...either all the events in Mexico, or the political blah blah between David Palmer and his brother.

Either way, I came "this close" to deleting the whole thing.

I don't know how many times people have stopped watching only to be upset that they gave up just as it got good.

Heads up, you haven't seen anything yet.

I concur ...

it is going to get SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than the beginning of the season!

Just chiming in agreement here. You'd have regretted ditching it. It's turned the corner and will only be getting better regarding the eps you haven't seen yet to present. I'm back in "anxious" mode waiting for Tuesdays. The rough part is waiting to start watching til 7:20 so I can skip commercials.

I was also really, really close to nuking my season pass for 24 this season during those first few weeks. It was a big "who cares" fest. But, as others note above, it got many times better later in the season.

I feel for the people that put the show together, because the expectations for it are huge, and we viewers get disappointed so easily, but really, the first part of the season was just a big snore fest.

Thankfully, eventually the show hit it's stride again, and now looks like things will wrap up with a satisfactory season.

Though I never considered nuking my SP, I did grumble about the early part of the season. It's DEFINATELY picking up now!

On my PC, I have hours 14 through 20. Which is the best of these hours to start watching?

I'll read the summary on tvtome (if you guys don't sufficiently spoil it). This season bored me to tears. I don't care how good it gets, so many episodes were bad that there couldn't be a net sum pay off for me.

There's something about watching just one episode per week that takes away from 24.

We missed all of season 1 and season 2. Eventually the hype proved too much and we rented the season 1 DVD's. We could not turn it off. We would watch it like a movie, 2, 3 or 4 episodes in a row.

We caught the season 2 rerun marathon on FX and TiVo'ed the entire season. Again, we watched that the same way and enjoyed it almost as much.

Now that we're caught up, it just doesn't seem the same. I think that when you catch a 'bad' episode, you get frustrated. Then you have to wait another week for it to redeem itself. When you have all the episodes on hand, and you catch a 'bad' episode, you can watch the next and hopefully, it gets better.

I probably should have TiVo'ed them all and watched like the previous seasons.

Well, I watched 4 episodes yesterday while home sick. It definitely got back that old "Just one more" feeling.

I told my wife that I watched them without her, and she said "I'm free!"
But she doesn't know how good it got all of the sudden.

The one big gripe I have: The President of the USA seems to have ALOT of alone time in the midst of major crises. Only one advisor, and it's his brother? Nobody to delegate to? He just sits in a cubicle and thinks.

I had a signature last season about that. Rephrasing a community member on a 60 Minutes story, "I can watch 24 in 18. Why should I watch it over 39 weeks?" Except I'd converted 39 weeks into hours.
