Second Tivo

I am wanting to buy a Second Tivo my first is a Series 1 and I would want a Series 2 for my second. I was wondering if the remote from one would control the other tivo. If so is there an easy solution around this.

Yes, the series 1 remote will operate the series 2 also. But it would be better to use the series 2 remote to control your old Tivo. The new remote has a selector switch on it so you can tell it which Tivo to control.

I hear ya. I just got my third (2nd series 2) Tivo today. A refurb from the Tivo store $150, then you get a $50 rebate. I can justifying not eating for acouple weeks for a $100 Tivo :)
(Ordered it Sunday night, got delivered to my door Wednesday. That was with the free shipping also!)

Yes, my series two is distributed housewide, but the series one is just available in the family room. So I use the series 2 remote in the family room (to control both TiVos), and the series 1 remote is in the room with the series 2 in it. My wife uses that remote.

i.e. I swapped the remotes.
