Friends Finale [SPECULATION]

Okay, as the series winds down to the end, I had some thoughts about what the final scene might be.
We already know the fate of 4 of the 6: Monica and Chandler head out to the 'burbs, Phoebe & Mike have kinky sex and buy a Volvo. Joey rides into the sunset to find fame and fortune in tinsel town. The only question left is whither Ross and Rachel.
How about this:
Interior. Night.
We see Rachel (and Emma), walking down the concourse ramp to board her flight. Ross, in slow motion, rushes after her. He catches up and gently grasps her arm. She turns to face him.
The camera, on a gimbal does a slow 720 spin around the couple, coming to rest on a medium two shot.
Ross: "Rachel, don't go. Stay with me. We'll be a family"
Rachel looks soulfully into his eyes.
Pause a beat.
Music swells, (Maybe U2's "With or Without You").
Slow fade to black.
The End
Whaddya think? :)
Bob.

I'll watch the Friends finale with my wife with the great pleasure of seeing the end of a terrible, terrible cookie-cutter whitebread sitcom.

I like your ending, with one small change. Just before the fade to black, Rachel says "Get over it.", turns around and boards the plane. Ross starts to cry. <fade to black>. That would get my applause.

I think she goes to Paris earlier in the show and he takes a plane to be with her a la Sex and the city.
Ben? Who's Ben?

I think you're making some big assumptions.

Didn't your mother teach you about manners? This isn't a "do you like friends or not" thread... geez....

I'm not a big fan of the grand finale concept. I don't want to see a lot of tearful goodbyes and everyone going their separate ways. I've invested 10 years in the show and the characters and would love to know that they will still be seeing each other. Even if Chandler and Monica are buying a house in the suburbs, I'm sure they'll still end up in the city a lot. Of course, the "Joey" spinoff kinda shot that to heck as we all know he'll be moving to LA.
I'd like to see the last shot be of all six of them at Central Perk.

Don't forget they are all supposed to be on Leno tonight.....

With this one, I'd kind of like to see it just 'end'. Not like they are trying to make it and ending, but rather you could pretty much pick up next year if you wanted.
Even though we know where everyone seems to be heading they don't have to make it seem like a goodbye. I would really like it to be a bit more lighthearted.
My guess though is that it's going to be a sappy 'I'll never see you again' type of show.

How about if they all get killed off by a freak accident? (except Joey)

That would have been funny if the writers of "Sex and the City" and "Friends" got together. They could have had Rachel and Carrie bump into each other at a cafe or something, after talking about their problems they could have both concluded that Paris stunk, and they wanted to go back to the states. Or Rachel could have bumped into Big and Carrie and seen how happy they were, and decided that she needs to be with Ross.

They could all be put in jail in some obscure town in New England because they saw a fat guy get robbed and they didn't do anything about it..... Oh wait, that's been done already :D

Number one show in America and it is terrible? It did just what it was supose to do; entertain and get a large audience. Whitebread? Sounds like a racist statement to me. As I recall, there have been MANY sitcoms that had all minority casts. Glad you aren't a bitter person. Enjoy the show.

btw, yesterday there were 3 friends episodes. Wednesday is not normally a Friends day, and in fact, My TiVo already has other SPs for Wednesday (e.g. Enterprise, Bachelor, Southpark). So my wife recorded these 3 eps on a VHS using primitive VCR programming (remember that?).
Question: Are all 3 of these eps repeats?

A few years ago, when Friends was on its initial decline (before it rebounded with the pregnancy storyline - a friend and I thought it was the first time we could remember a show un-Jumping the Shark), I said the best way for Friends to have ended would have been after Ross and Rachel got married in Vegas. It was a moment that left everyone saying, "What the h*ll just happened?" for the entire summer, and would have been a great way to end a series.
I would love to see a Newhart or St. Elsewhere style ending, but I think we'll get something more normal. If they do that I just hope there are no loose ends.

P.S. Does anybody know if the chick & the duck will be going to Joey?

Ross and Rachel buy the house for sale next to Monica and Chandler.

1) Chandler and Monica: They finally are in the house with the adopted kid and Monica finds out she is pregnant. One of Chandler's 'little buggers did the job'.
2) Joey gets canned from his soap but gets a big interview out in Hollywood. (duh)
3) Phoeby and Mike: ah.... they stay together.
4) Rachel, Ross, and Emma: Emma finally says 'Daddy' to Ross. Rachel is surprised by Ross while boarding the plane and by Ross's decision to go to Paris with her so they can be a family.
