does anyone know where I can purchase a replacement psu for a series 2 tivo, I've seen replacement psu for series 1 so why not series 2? do they even make them as I have recently purchased a tivo s2 and its compleatly dead it does not even power up

How recently? You do have a warranty and it may just pay to send it back to the manufacturer since their cost is not much more than what you have seen the Series 1 power supplies sold for.
