When I turn on the TV in the AM to catch the weather, I frequently find the TiVo on a channel that broadcasts "Paid Programming" ("Thigh Master" and the like). That's bad enough, but when it is recording "Regis and whoever", I can't stand it.

I would really like: When the TiVo is not recording something to keep, hence just recording whatever channel its on, that it would check the Thumbs Up/Down rating and if the program is rated Thumbs Down, TiVo will find another channel to "idle" on, such that it never records (in the 30 minute "live" buffer) what I think is crap.

Excellent idea, avoid idling on any TD program, and favor items form the suggestions list (if Record Suggesions is off.)
Also, let's extend this to live viewing. If I'm browsing live TV at 3AM, I'd like it to automatically jump over any channel that's currently showing "Paid Programming"
