I see there are a ton of "hacks" to add caller ID to TiVo. Why can't they just add it and download it to us!

We also have Ultimate TV, after a couple of years, they downloaded the Caller ID upgrade.

It is great, and I did not have to do a thing!

Come on TiVo, it can't be too involved, the box is already connected to a phone line.

Standalone Tivos are not capable of caller id due to hardware restrictions. Some Directivo models are capable *if* they would add the software. Don't count on it, though! We've been begging for it for years!
