Bummer about Remote

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I bought an original Series 1 TiVo years ago and used the remote TiVo, TV, audio. I then got a Bose audio system and the remote didn't operate it. I also got a Sampo Plasma TV and the remote didn't operate that either. 2.5 years later I buy the HD TiVo with a new remote. They have codes for Bose and Sampo, but none work. I even did a codes search. I guess I'll have to stay with my universal remote.

I thought all BOSE equipment was RF?

My Bose 321 is IR.

try and get ahold of the tech support for your tv and bose and ask specifically what code they use. Might be worth a try.

There are always universal remotes...

OTOH, I've had great luck with Tivo remotes. Sony TV, Sony and pioneer receivers, now a Panasonic Plasma and a Denon receiver. All worked with "one-touch" on-off, volume mute etc just like they are supposed to. Mostly I've been able to just use the Tivo remote alone.

I have a similar issue with my Yamaha 2400 reciever. The remote will operate the mute and volume, but not the power.. any ideas here??

I know that there are separate buttons on the Yamaha remote for power on and standby (off) and that may have somthing to do about it.

Also, anybody else notice that the users manual states to press the DirecTV and power buttons, but the on screen instructions say DirecTV and Mute buttons. Which is correct???

thx

Both, pressing Directv & mute gets you only the mute & vol, but if you want the power command too, then you need to press Directv & Tv power and enter the amp code again.

I just started a thread on this, but then I saw this thread already...any ideas?

Hello All,

I just got my HR10-250 and I'm trying to program the peanut remote control to take care of my TV as well as my A/V receiver. The TV is all set (mitsu 65 Diamond) up, but I cannot get it to control power AND volume on my Harmon Kardon AVR8000. Anyone have any advice on getting it to control both power AND volume on the H/K AVR8000?

Thanks

Doug

Try edmund's instructions - it's not clear in the manual exactly, but you setup the TV, then the AV receiver as per the onscreen instructions. Save the receiver's code number.

Then go a third time, holding down the Tivo button and TV Power buttons for 5 secs, then enter the code for the amp again.

That should do it.

Are you using the NetCommand on the Mitsu? I can use my TiVo remote to command volume whether I am using the Mitsu speaker or my AVR.

I swap between Mitsu speaker and AVR using the Mitsu remote. Can this be done from the TiVo remote?

My Mitsu was built in 2001 and does not feature 'Net Command'. Am I missing much??

I use only my AVR8000 for sound out of the TV, so I do not know about swapping.

Sorry

Doug
