Everwood (Season Finale) 5/10/04 SPOILERS
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

All I can say is:
(1) Bad decision about Madison, Andy. Bad BAD decision. This will come back and bite you on the ass, but good.
(2) Poor Amy and Ephram. Even when they catch a break, they can't catch a break. Oh, wait, they caught a break. But they really haven't. I wish my head would stop spinning.
(3) What's wrong with a good bagel shop? Even people in Colorado have heard of them. Although Harold might have gone a bit overboard with the 37 different flavors on the first day.
(4) Saw THAT job offer a mile away.
We'll have to see how this all shakes out next fall.

Couldn't agree more with point #1. I'm actually surprised that madison didn't show up at the bus station to talk to Ephram. I can't believe she even listened to Andy.....How can she make that decision without talking to him? that is unfair to both kids....
And why don't Coloradians like bagels?
Posted by: FLbadgirl
Why do they call bacon ham? ;)
What a great finale. I would also agree. Andy made a very poor, emotionally driven decision.
Can't wait for next season.

Sorry Gray I missed your thread. I am not used to having an Everwood thread start so quickly. From mine:
Not the best season finale, but there is no way we could have gone through what we did last year. In saying that I do miss Colin, he seemed to be a great guy.
The sure did get a bagel shop opened very quickly, never seen anything happen that fast in my life.
It was and is a mistake not to tell Eprham about Madison. Dr. Brown is really showing you what kind of guy he is when he tells her to "go away" and he will send her money for the rest of her life. Amazing.
Amy and Ephram together in NY for a week un-supervised? Where is he staying? Where is she staying? Didn't she say her mother drover her to the airport?
Towards the end with Bright and Delia was great.

Yeah, I thought that last bit with Bright and Delia was a hoot. Don't forget, she (and some of her friends) have a crush on him.
I also was a bit taken aback by Amy's being able to accompany Ephram to NYC unsupervised. Perhaps the first episode of next season will be Dr. Abbott laying waste to Manhattan as he searches for them.

Dr. Abbott paid for the plane ticket so I doubt he is going to be upset.
Personally, I think this entire episode had everyone out of character.
Dr. Abbott has completely forgotten not only what Andy did to him regarding the whole Amy/birth-control thing but also for dumping his sister.
Ephram said NO!?! to Amy's asking him to stay?
Andy allows Ephram to have a relationship with a girl 4 years his senior(WTG EHPRAM!) but doesn't allow Madison to tell him of it's consequences?
I also have a theory. I think Madison is still in love with Ephram. I think she may have gotten herself pregnant by someone else in order to get him back.
Well, maybe not. It seems an awful stupid thing to do all things considered. But still, smarter girls have done dumber things to get their man back.

Dr. Abbott paid for the plane ticket? Really? They said that? I missed that.
Maybe they're ALL pod people now!

Yeah, Amy said something about having to wash her dad's car a bunch of times to pay for it.

I agree that this episode felt a little strange, but I LOVED the scene with Harry and Andy in the Bagel Shoppe.
I don't care much for Treat Williams but love Tom Amandes and thought he did a great job switching over to a concerned person from the antagonistic relationship they have. He really does this show good.
I think it's supposed to be clear that Andy is making a mistake with Madison. He's feeling supremely responsible for what's happened and is making a very knee jerk reaction and trying to control everything.
It clearly will come back and get him in trouble.
When Amy was on the plane I looked over at my wife and asked her if we were going to let our 16 year old daughter go to New York for 10 days for a boy.
She laughed.

Yes, Ephram will find out that his father kept the baby news from him, and yes, Ephram will be angry about it.
But I am not so sure that Andy's move was the wrong one. Ephram is not going to marry the girl this summer, no matter what. But he would spend a lot of time talking about it and would miss out on his music school.
Deal with the fall-out later. I think Andy did the right thing.

I'd agree with this if Andy said that he's not to know until he gets back, or after Madison decides what she's going to do. Or just give it some time, etc.
He said he's never to know.
That's a bit different.

She mentioned getting the ticket on Priceline. Not only getting the same flight but getting the adjacent seat. WHAT LUCK.

If he would have told her to wait until then end of summer when he returns, that would be OK. But telling her to leave and he will support her and the baby is just plain wrong.
Bryanmc I am right there with you on Tom Amandes. He needs to be nominated for a supporting Emmy for his work on this show.

Doesn't she have a decision to make before the end of Summer? Waiting is not an option.

Amy better not come back from NYC pregnant.

If that happens then that boy has got some strong swimmers.
efilippi - I think by her face the decision was already made. That's what I read into it.

I agree completely; we are supposed to be cringing at his decision because it is so obviously wrong (and immoral at that). It's too bad for Ephram and Amy that this is the case. It will obviously cause problems for them in the future when it comes out. Dang, they never catch a break
I loved how Deliah and Bright ended up heading off to the movies together. They have both lost their best friend for a while. I'll bet she is wishing she were just a few years older :D

Ephram is staying with his grandparents while he is in NY. Amy mentioned something along the lines of "They (the grandparents) said they have a nice guest room", so she is apparently talked to them and is staying with them also.

So how will Dr. A make money working with Dr. B? Will they have to start charging customers? I have no problem with this. Maybe next ep should start with Dr. B saying "Man I was such a dumass. I lost $2M already giving out free medical service."

I am sure he is making money from stocks / bonds / savings account, etc...
If this is true he could use the free medical services as a write off to pay less taxes. But maybe we will know more next season.

FWIW, you can't write off services (labor).
I wish you could.

What about all the items used during a day of work, the electric, etc..
Take this last episode the pregnancy test has to cost a lot of money and he performed the test twice.

Dr. A said they would have to charge and B said he;d think about it.
So is Madison not to ever tell Ephram about this baby? I was thinking he meant not tell him now. But never? Hrmm, now that I think about it, it did sound like that, but I didnt get that vibe when i first watched it.

Yes, you can write off materials, just not labor.

My thoughts:
1. Finally Amy and Ephram appear to be getting together, though it will only be temporarily. ;)
2. I find it near unbelievable that Dr. A approved of her going, though she clearly states he helped get the airline ticket for her. Maybe she lied and has in essence run away. Making for a story come beginning of next season.
3. Dr. B withholding the pregnancy info from Ephram is a bad idea. I think I would agree if he did it just for the summer, but he made it clear he never wants Ephram to find out. Which means Ephram WILL find out next season causing another rif between him and Dr. B.
4. Once Ephram finds out, Amy will know, and that will pretty much end their relationship, again.
5. It was a little too easy for Dr. A to start talking to Dr. B. While I enjoyed the segment of their discussion in the bagel shoppe, Dr. A was just too mad for him to turn around that quickly. We're talking about his daughter getting birth control pills.
6. I do think they will charge for medical services. Dr. A stated they would have to and Dr. B said it would be considered. I think Dr. B knows he will have to start charging for Dr. A to work there. There is no way Dr. B could afford to pay Dr. A without wiping out his savings IMHO.
7. It'll be interesting to see what Madison decides to do about the pregnancy. I think she'll wait until Ephram gets back from NY, because you know she'll want to tell him. Then we'll see how Ephram reacts. Will he freak out or not? There's a lot of story directions that could go from here. They could have the two argue/fight about it. They could disagree on what to do. They could agree either way, with one resulting in them deciding to get married. Oi, so many things to think about.
8. I kind of found it cute near the end after Ephram got on the bus and Bright and Delia decide to go see a movie. Kind of looking like the two left behind and bonding.

I wonder if Madison will be back. Sarah Lancaster was in pilot that got picked up, Dr. Vegas with Rob Lowe.
