60 Minutes 5/16

In my region on a SA box, 60 Minutes was being captured under my SP, but now it is no longer scheduled to record. It appears to me that the 60 Minutes episode on my box has a different show ID than the SP (not being seen by the SP anymore). This only appears to apply to the 5/16 episode (the following week is on the SP okay).
You may want to check your TDL to ensure it is recording with a single-check recording if it is not being captured by a SP.

Yeah, I just noticed mine wasn't recording. Tonight's episode doesn't show up as an upcoming episode in my SP, though next week's does. I did notice that tonight's episode had an actual description, but that's happened before without failing to appear under the SP. Hmmmm.

Interesting ..... my wife just came down and told me 60 Minutes SP wasn't being recorded (NY area) 15 minutes after it started. It wasn't even in recording history.

Tonight, my DSR6000 failed to record the 60 Minutes Season Pass I have. In the recorded history it said that the program was no longer in the guide data. But it was.
I should have checked here first for Rasheed's message so I could have caught the problem.

WTH mine didn't record either dammit

Don't feel bad Brodo, we shouldn't have to check here to catch such problems--TiVo should simply work correctly dammit!
Recording history told me not recorded "no longer in program guide." Anyone have any ideas why it happened?

Bump...
At least with DTiVo is probably a D* issue. Anyway I am very curious as to how this happened also.

I had that too! I caught it in time to see most of it, but that's not good!

I have two SPs for 60 Minutes, one on each CBS station I get here. The one on WOWT matched at some time as it stated that it wasn't recording because it conflicted with the one on KOLN. But that one didn't record either.
If it was a case of a shifting series ID, they would have had to have matched at one time and revised away.
Standalone Series1.
Can't check suprnova.org here; my stylesheet suppresses iframes.

Same thing happened to me in Dallas.
Comcast Digital Cable subscriber with SA Series 2 TiVo.
Grrrrrrr.

For some reason when the episode's description was added, the show ID got changed by mistake. This does not appear to apply for next week as of now.
I'm sorry some of you didn't get a chance to see the warning before airtime.

Same here, never seen that before. The guide showed correct and it was missed with that nonsensical message. I think I will take my TiVos out and throw them on the street and stomp up and down on them.

All,
We apologize for this problem. Tribune has confirmed that an editorial mistake was made in their processes for an alteration to the description of this episode. A new show ID was assigned in error. The problem has been corrected, and we have asked Tribune to put in place steps to prevent this probem from recurring. Apologies again to anyone who missed the episode.
Best regards,
Stephen

This isn't the only time this has happened. It occurred twice on G4, on one episode of Portal (even multiple repeats of that episode) and also on Cinematech. Those shows aren't (and that network isn't) of as large of interest though, so those incidents get ignored.
They also once recently erroneously listed the same episode of 60 Minutes showing two weeks in a row, causing me to miss that one too.

HTH, sorry to hear about these incidents. If you can please pass on the details to lineup@tivo.com we'll make sure to see what we can do to prevent these types of problems.
It's been suggested in a different thread in the Coffee House forum (a thread which includes words in the title that I tend not to want to reply to) that TiVo should have caught this particular 60 Minutes error. In general we put a lot of effort into trying to make sure the data is correct. Entire teams of people at TiVo do work to verify data and improve processes. We are working as best we can. However, certain types of changes are editorial in nature, and are very unlikely to be caught. This 60 Minutes case is a good example; in this case, Tribune made a mistake and said that this particular 60 Minutes episode was not part of the regular 60 Minutes series but instead was part of the 60 Minutes (Spanish) series. While we can monitor and detect certain types of changes, realistically, certain types of bad data (like this) are very hard to detect. It's hard to know that this change is an error, for example, versus a last minute actual change by the network. However, we're not giving up -- we will continue to work on preventing these types of problems both by requiring better data from Tribune and the networks and by increasing our monitoring over time.
Sorry again to anyone who was inconvenienced.
Best regards,
Stephen

Unfortunately I have no more data on the Cinematech problem and only the repeat of the Portal episode saved, though that repeat still had the different series ID. That's as much as I can dig up. I'll get a message fired off tomorrow.
