My BIL loaned me the first season on DVD. I've watched the first two episodes (Richard Lewis and girlfriend at the movies, Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen at the bowling alley).
So far I really like it. Do I understand correctly that the basic plot is laid out but the actors improvise for the most part? If so, they do a pretty good job.

Yep, that's correct. The plot is known by the actors but the dialogue is improvised. Great show. I think I liked the season you are watching the best of the three.

One of the freshest comedies I have seen.
Way to Go HBO---- just hope they keep reshowing them ON-Demand and I wont have to buy the DVDS!
Glad you picked up on it---spread the word!

There have been four seasons.

This program is one of the prime reasons there are so many other networks and shows from which to choose. ;)
