I currently have a single 120gb HD in my SD-DVR40 and looking to add another 120gb ... Does anyone have a similar config that can point out any negative aspects of having 2 large drives (ie slow menu, freezing, etc)???

Should be no problem at all - we sell them all the time. Your Now Playing List can slow a bit once it fills up, but it shouldn't be too bad.
