MP3s with optical output?

Will the HMO on a series 2 DirecTivo output mp3 audio over the optical output? If so, would it be PCM stereo?

Maybe someone who has HMO on one of the DVD/Tivos can give us a hint, since those have optical audio outputs.

My guess is that they output a PCM stream...

Hi.......I just got Tivo, and honestly don't know half of what it does. Could you explain what mp3's have to do with the Tivo service and how it can be used for music? And what is "HMO"?

HMO doesn't currently work with DirecTivo. I think its cuz your USB ports are not active, therefore no sanctioned network adapter.

DirecTV chooses not to enable the hardware. AND, as of yet, they have not decided to implement the HMO software in the upcoming release. Essentially buying a Hughes DirecTivo box with the hardware was a waste of your money... some might even say a scam.

Well it was only $99, records Directv (& Dolby Digital) with no quality loss, and I added 120 hours with a hard drive upgrade for $70, so it is still a good deal to me. :D
