finally, after 18 months of a "fences" ARWL, TiVo did its magic and informed me that TV Land is showing the first episode of the first season (after the pilot, which is apparently not included in the syndication rights) on Wednesday, May 26th!
Rome, Wisconsin here we come!
:D :D

I've seen every episode at least 2 or 3 times.
4th times sure to be a charm!

Cool. I was watching it a year or two ago on USA or TNT or something, but they abruptly dropped it with many episodes left. It's nice to see that it's coming back.
Edit: Upon reflection, I think it was on TNN, before the stupid name change.

you're welcome. I am quite confident that you will love it. I haven't seen it in years and barely remember most episodes. in fact, I don't think I've even seen all episodes. I saw them in Germany (lovely dubbed, of course :D ) 8 or 9 years ago. They might not even have shown the last season there.

Hey, this is great, thanks! I watched a number of episodes and was a big fan. I'm going to start TiVo'ing this.
Thanks again.

Cool. I loved this show when it was first on, but CBS kept messing around with the timeslot and then wondered why it got such lousy ratings
One of the lines from Picket Fences that has stuck with me is when Wambaugh is defending a woman who steamrolled her husband when he tried to leave her: "...and she rolled over Dear John in a John Deere" :D

I'd hate to disappoint you but I'm pretty sure it's only one episode. I hope it's not but I think it is. They are doing the same thing with Doogie Howser.

I always love seeing the players from this show on other shows now. The medical examiner (whose name escapes me) played a man composed of bugs on a Buffy once! :)

You know I just noticed that there was only ONE episode. I hope this is not the case.

They apparently did that with Mork and Mindy last week, too. Showed the pilot, but no others are in the guide. Wonder what's up with all that...

For awhile boston public seemed to be Picket Fences Lite, with Harvey, Marla, and the hook lady. :)

Don Cheadle has had a decent career since Picket Fences, which is the first thing I saw him in.

I thought they might just show one episode a week. that's why I wasn't alarmed when I only saw one episode in the guide (Wednesday, May 26th). if they truly show only one episode I will be majorly bummed and I question the sanity of TV Land's program directors...
