I think it'll be worth the wait for Alias. Anyone heard anything about "Lost"?
Posted by: LoadStar
I agree with the Alias sentiment. It's nice to hear that even JJ wants to get back to what really inspired him to do the series in the first place... the series has kind of gotten lost in the magical mumbo-jumbo this year, and it'd be nice if they could work their way back to being a semi-realistic spy action show.

The only thing I am dissapointed about is "I'm With Her" not coming back. ABC has a long road ahead of them, right now they are the laughing stock of network TV.

I'm disappointed "It's All Relative" isn't returning. While the "young lovers" of the show were just so-so, the 4 parents were much better.

Is the spinoff sitcom from the practice not going to be on ABC?

"Fleet Street" - Sundays 10PM.

I will try "The Swap".

Am I somehow a bit less than humane because when I read the description of ABC's new show "Blind Justice" I immediately thought that they should combine the blind detective from that show with Marlee Maitlan from "Reasonable Doubt" for the next Law & Order incarnation? Maybe call it "See No Evil, Hear No Evil"?

And is it just me, or does "Desperate Housewives" look like a bad rip-off of "Dead Like Me"? Does ABC have ANY creative energy left?

Well, some of the cast pictures for NBC and ABC (zap2it) new shows give away plots to other shows. Adriana from Sopranos on "Joey" means she'll probably get whacked (unless Sopranos is over for good). The nurse's kid from "ER" is on a new sitcom "Rodney" means that they won't be coming back. The army reserve doctor from "ER" is on Hawaii so he'll be in Iraq or dead next season. The cast of "Line of Fire" is spread out so that show has no hope of coming back (I still held out some hope).
"Lost" looks really stupid. But the "Desperate Housewives" women are incredibly hot!

Sopranos has such an erratic schedule that the actress was told any future work on the show would very likely fall during her Joey hiatus. No spoiler at all (necessarily)

Looking through the pilots they did not pick up some shows that sounded good. Shows with Lewis Black, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sabrina Lloyd, and Selma Blair.

That's correct. "Joey" will be done production before "The Sopranos" resumes filming next March.

actually, there is talks of another one coming that would star Camryn Manheim in a sitcom about her character Ellenor Frutt's life in Buffalo with her family. If that goes anywhere, it'll be a midseason show.

The one missing (so far) is the JJ Abrams/Greg Grunberg project about the life of the bounty hunter. it was always anticipated to be a mid-season replacement, so it's still too early to tell, but they DID talk about quite a few midseason shows already.

Sounded more like Fox' Still Life to me. Still hoping to see that one mid-season next year.

Lost looks good. The cast is huge to allow a lot of stories it seems so that it doesn't get repetitive is my guess.

From the description, it doesn't look much like Dead Like Me. It looks alot more like "American Beauty." Even if it were a ripoff of Dead Like Me, how many people have actually SEEN that program to realize it? A fairly low percentage of TV viewers I'd have to imaging.
Houswives Looks interesting; I may give it a try in Alias' spot while it's there. :)

The producers of "Blind Justice" must have a death wish. They cast Rena Sofer in it.

No, she is not getting wacked (this year at least). She was on Jimmy Kimmell a few weeks ago and was talking about both shows. Jimmy asked her if she was being killed off and she said definitely not this season. She said the producers of the Sopranos were allowing her to do the other show at the same time.

Looking at ABC's new Fall shows, maybe one or two catch my interest, otherwise, it looks like another 4th place finish for ABC again. Meanwhile, decent shows from this year (Karen Sisco, Line of Fire) and an ok show (Threat Matrix) got little support from the network, and thus because of ABC putting them on and off the schedule whenever they felt like it, all have been officially canceled.
I have to say, that after those three shows got bumped this year, the only time I watch ABC now is for Alias, According to Jim, Monday Night Football and ABC News Tonight.

I didn't notice that. Man, that sucks. Teri Polo is one of the nicest looking women on TV, she must be trying to take over for Paula Marshall in the show killing department. ;-(

ABC is worse than FOX at not giving shows a chance.
10-8, Dragnet, & Karen Sisco could all have developed into big hits someday. They forget that Law & Order did not do so well it's first few seasons. Of these three only Dragnet was given a second season they ruined by changing the format.

I don't know if I'm one of the only people who watched it or not, but what about "The D.A."? It was a limited run series which I found to be very good...much better than Line Of Fire. I was hoping ABC would give it a chance, at least another limited run mid-season.

OK. This sounds like a good place to bitch about my local ABC affilliate.
Well. The subject does. Haven't read the thread that closely.
Anyway, Sydney shows up in a bikini, or close to it, in the last episode, right? Well our STOOPID local channel breaks in RIGHT THEN with a weather alert. About thunderstorms. THUNDERSTORMS!!! DO THEY EVEN HAVE A CALENDAR? JFC, people, it rains in the spring!!! OMG!
*sigh* feel better getting that off my chest.

I think she's still running third between PM and Rena Sofer.
When will we be able to see her in "Meet the Fockers?"

Around Christmas.

Thunderstorms. For Christ's sake. Still pisses me off.
Don't suppose anyone could burn a few seconds of the show to the web somewhere/somehow? It's when she first shows up in the bikini/haltertop thing, that scene.

I agree. I really liked The D.A. But, almost nobody watched it.
I think I saw that J.K. Simmons had something else lined up for next year. I can't remember what it might have been.
