Motown 45

Wow, what a dud this show is turning out to be. I am about 3/4ths of the way through and I can't think of a single highlight. Maybe The Funk Brothers playing back up to whoever that was singing What Becomes of the Brokenhearted? was good but that was it. No Diana Ross, no original Temptations, no anybody worth mentioning except the genius Smokey Robinson.

I had hoped for some of the old Motown magic. The recent documentary about The Funk Brothers, Standing in the Shadows of Motown is very good and I had hoped for something of that quality. This was an almost amateurish production with not so talented performers trying to perform great songs. Kelly Rowland is an extraordinary beauty but a very ordinary talent. Mary Wilson and Gladys Knight have grown a lot since I last saw them.

Can anybody that watched that mess tell me what in the world they thought they were doing?

Chris

I've watched about half of it and I'd pretty much agree, although I thought Gladys Knight was very good. There were so many things that were just BAD!!!
