tivo native pdisk

I've been reading the LBA48 thread and I need to run pdisk to get a look at my partition tables. Problem is my wife made me put my tivo computer away so she could have some company over. I won't be able to get it back out until next week. Can I run pdisk native on a tivo? Or is there a native tivo version of it? It would sure be handy to be able to run it on telnet.

Series 1 or Series 2? There's a 2 version on tivoutils.sf.net ; I may have a series 1 version around here somewhere if that's what you need.

If pdisk resides on your TiVo you might be able to run it from the hackman TivoWeb module.
If it's the kind of utility that you run and it gives back information (like smartctl), this should work just fine.
If it's more interactive, then it won't work. But if you can control it with command line switches, you should be in good shape.

It's a series 1. I should have mentioned that in my first post.
Portland---I've been been meaning to look at "hackman". It sounds very interesting, not to mention useful. Yes, it's exactly that kind of utility. You run it once and look at the results. It tells you the number and sizes of partitions on your disks.

Can you otherwise boot a CD with the MFS disc? Toy you have serial bash or FTP access to it?
You could use dd to copy the partition table block to a file, and transfer and read that on a PC with the MFStools CD (which has pdisk).

I would think that would qualify as spousal abuse. We should start a support group for this sort of thing.
