well, since it is easy to bypass it by going directly to http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/ removing it isn't exactly a high priority for the forums owner.

Or at least that's pretty much what I remember him saying the last time someone mentioned it...

I think the issue is: Do we really need it? Why not just direct new people to the FAQ or right to the forum?

Maye that would reduce that 1.7tb or bandwidth used for TCF and AVS.
