Shame on D* for NO TNT-HD:WCF!!

After spending thousands of dollars on equipment, over $120 a month on programming, including a $10.99 premium for the "HD-PACKAGE", the least I would expect is to be able to watch the Western Conference Finals in HD.

D* should be ashamed they are letting customers down again.

Buck up and get TNT-HD feed on channel 84 so we can at least record some HD sports now.

hear, hear.

Get over it. TNT-HD will be on D* soon enough. You can still watch the game.

Unless you're aware of the business wranglings behind carriage of TNT-HD, then I don't think anyone's in a position to judge whether D* "let anyone down."

you knew what HD channels directv offered when you bought the equipment, and paid that $120/month right? :)

Part of the problem could be TNT wanted full carriage and refuses to offer the games on a Ala Carte basis. DirecTV does not have the capacity today to give them that full carriage and TNT is not willing to give a little..

It is very possible we may not see any games of the Western Finals in HD if the Lakers wrap it up quickly!

I'm with you, Gottcha. TNT-HD is available. We pay a premium for D*, and they should step up to the plate and deliver the goods. I don't care about the business wranglings, whatever they may be.

half of me says shame on them

half of me says they can't really do anything until they get 7s going.

guess that makes it a wash.

remember, most TWC systems still don't have ESPN and that has been around for a year.

The business wranglings are a necessary part of any business. Your attitude would never give consumers any leverage. DirecTV has negotiated a great deal for TiVo service and programming packages. This pay whatever it takes attitude would result in nothing but higher prices and poorer quality. I am grateful DirecTV has tried to keep prices down and not given in to unreasonable requests. Too many channels already for the bandwidth available so DirecTV has to pick and choose. Hopefully we will soon have more HDTV channels and if TNT-HD is one of them and represents good value, great. If not, then that is ok with me also.

All you need to do is change to a provider that offers this must have TNT-HD if you have to have it. No one channel is a must have at any price for me. Many are must have at the right price.

I don't want to change providers. I'd be willing to bet I've been a D* customer longer than you. I just wish we could see the Western Conference Finals in HD. Again, I don't care about the business wranglings, and I don't need to have the concept of business explained to me.

Has any given any thought to this and just maybe its not Directv fault that we don't have the Western Conference Finals on HD......

What a great idea! Ok, I'll get Voom. Oops, no, can't do that. Their bird flies too low for many of us here in Los Angeles (where the Lakers are from, strangely enough). Ok, I'll get cable. Wait a minute, cable companies are monopolies. What company am iI forced to sign up with if I want cable? Adelphia! Not only do they not offer TNTHD (or much else for that matter), but they are owned by criminals. Ok, wait. I got it. I'll call Charlie! I mean, I prolly can't get l.o.s. to his bird either, but what the heck, it's worth a shot. I mean, shoot, I only have 2 dishes and an antenna on my roof already. I've only invested thousands on HD equip, HD Tivo, wiring my house for D* and all, but shoot, if D* can't come through..........

TNT has the finals in HD. I have HD equip. I am a D* HD subscriber. D* is not carrying TNT in HD. I don't care what the speculative reasons may be. I don't care "who's fault" it is. I expect D* and TNT to provide this service to me. And I am pissed that they are not. I have done my due diligence and notified both TNT and D* of my displeasure with the situation.

More simply, the Western Confernce Finals are a huge event being broadcast in HD, and the fact that it is not available to one of the largest HD subscriber bases is downright silly, and the fact that some people on this board would challenge those holding this type of notion is even sillier.

But I guess some of us  just like to argue no matter how stupid the argument is.

Having had business dealings with Turner stations in the past, I suspect TNT made it an all or nothing deal and since 7S is not yet operational that DirecTV does not have the capacity to give them a dedicated station just yet.
