I wish Tivo had

I wish I could search by:
- all 4 star movies
- all Oscar winner of Best Picture

I wish Tivo could better help me when looking for new things to record.
- something like "Best Bets" but actually useful.
- shows getting a lot of hype (must-see series finalies like Friends, American Idol final
- unique events or first time television events...like when Lebron James played in the first nationally televised high school BB game.

The bottom line is that Tivo does a great job recoding shows you know you want to record. In my opinion, the is much improvement needed by Tivo to give me suggestions for recording this. And I don't even want suggestions taylored to my viewing habits. Maybe there is some contractual reason why Tivo can't provide tools that express opinions/make recommendations about shows.

I would look through the Showcase portion of you tivo. Highlights several channels with lineups of the newest or top shows. Also the TV Guide portion usually gives one or two suggestions to watch.

This helps me at times find new series premieres or interesting first run shows.

When you look into the movies section of the showcase it does have some Award winning Movies that you can sort and choose from.

Yes I am aware of those options, but just feel they could be much much better. I thing as the DVR industry becomes more mature, all the functions we enjoy through tivo will be a commodity and Tivo will have to distinguish itself through things like those mentioned in the post.
