Has the backdoor code for version 5, which runs on the Toshiba, been found yet?

I'm not seeing this specified in the codes lists.

Has it been found yet, and if so, what is it?

It hasn't been found. I started a thread back in January asking for someone with 5.0 to post the hash value.

We would need this value before any effort could be made to try to find the code.

However no-one posted this hash value. Of course having the hash value is no guarantee of finding the backdoor code. The hash value for 3.2 and 4.0 are known, but the associated backdoor codes weren't found despite a concerted search effort.

You have to pull the drive to get at this, right?

Why won't TiVo release the codes? What's the worst that can happen?

Yeah, or else already have the unit modified to allow command line access.

Someone modifies the wrong item with the node navigator and turns their TiVo into a paperweight.
