What are your favorite stupid, pointless shows?
I like Trigger Happy TV, Mad TV, and Whose Line is it Anyway.

For some time mine was Americas Funniest Videos

The Evening News. Is there anything more pointless than that? LOL

I like AFV and BD too. Don't watch 'em eny more, though, even when my TiVo suggests them to me; there's too much else available, like Stargate SG-1 and other Sci-Fi channel shows.
Ooooh, I almost forgot! Tripping the Rift!!!!
[Added a G to Trippin' so a search might find it.]

I used to watch Elimidate when TiVo would suggest it (even knowing I was losing brain cells with each passing moment) but the unbelievable censoring of that show now... which I'm sure is due to all this FCC stuff, makes it even MORE unwatchable.

For some reason I never laugh harder than when I'm watching those "Most Outrageous Gameshow Moments" specials that aired (I think) on ABC and which VH-1 has re-aired multiple times now.
Even though I've seen them all several times, I laugh so damn hard at them I feel like I'm going to choke. Those people (especially on Family Feud) who can't think in a pinch just KILL me! :)
I hope they make more!

You do what they said from this one:
"What's the strangest place you've ever had the urge to make whoopy?"
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
"In the ass"
"No, I meant the location"
Strangely VH1 won't air it, but the Man Show can.

VH-1 aired that one...but they bleeped the a-word.

Oops, I meant:
Strangley VH1 won't air the part in the spoiler, but the Man Show can.

I agree! My favorite one is the sailor on wheel of fortune who guessed "Miners and Hoes" for the "Fingers and Toes" puzzle. I laughed so hard I hurt after that one. Still have to watch it every time it comes on.

Actually, I think it was bleeped in the original airing on ABC, so VH1 is probably just running the same video that they bought from them.
The Man Show probably bought the clip independently and so they have the option of airing it however they think it's appropriate, whereas VH-1 just has it as part of a pre-bleeped program.

It has to be Most Extreme Elimination, bar none. :)

Wow, I tried so hard to watch Elimidate, I just couldn't do it. I have a friend that was on that show and I kept trying to watch it to see if it was the episode he was on. But I just couldn't do it.
But talk about fun! Every time we go out, one of the guys in the group will point to him and say to any girl within 30 feet, "Hey, this guy got Elimidated." He won't live that down till the day he dies.

Pat Sajak kept a pretty straight face somehow on that one. I believe he was actually saying "minors and hos".

Excellent choice!:)

Sifl & Olly... Which is making an apparently brief return run on MTV2
Posted by: RegBarc
Jackass was the ultimate "pointless" TV show and I cannot fathom anything superior to it in it's category.

Nothing has ever made me laugh harder than "Trigger Happy TV" when it was on comedy central. Hasn't been on in a while, although it's still listed on their website.

Loved the British version. Whenever I hear that Nokia ring now, I have the urge to scream "HELLO? WHAT? YEAH, IT'S A LOAD OF RUBBISH. CHOW!"
Posted by: csyria
I had to get that and program it into my Moto.

I find Trigger Happy TV, stupid but funny. There was this episode where they showed two rabbit mascots humping each other on the display bed inside a furniture store. People walking by would stop and stare at the window glass.
Is Trigger Happy show still on? Can't seem to find it on the guide. It was suggested only by Tivo recently.

Yes, it's hard not to shout when you hear that tone. The British version was better, but I did love the girl on the American show. When she stood in front of a store dressed in an Pocahontas outfit, asking people if they wanted to see a genuine Indian dance, did a tap dance and held out her hand for a tip, I hurt myself laughing.
The sad penguin was another favorite.

i'd have to say "days of our lives"...it's like a freakin' train wreck...i can't NOT watch!
Posted by: buckeyenut
I'd have to say The Swan (umm...my wife made me Tivo it)... I won't go into details because it still may be on someone's list of things to watch... But, truly a pointless show...

Newlyweds with Nick and Jessica. I can't not watch her (for more reasons than the obvious two).
