This off their site. I have a 2nd one on order so I am hoping that I can get it in a week or so. My first unit works beautifully BTW. May be a good time to place your order.

We are taking orders now for this product. We expect to receive units tomorrow. Those with orders in our system will be shipped beginning 6/2 in the same order that orders were placed. Additional units are expected throughout the week. Those placing new orders, can expect delayed shipment as we ship earlier orders first. We will not charge your credit card until the unit ships. thanks. i completely missed that. i got my info when i went through the ordering process. guess they need to update that part. i ordered mine a couple weeks ago,really do hope it ships this week.

Question for you guys that just ordered from Rapid Satellite: I decided to do the same thing (can never have too many pre-orders, right? :D ) -- ordered it late last night -- this morning I see that the "available credit" on my card has decreased by the amount of the order. Normally this only happens if the card has been CHARGED -- at least, that's the only way I've seen it happen in the past.

Anybody else have this experience? It would truly be amazing if they're actually preparing to send one to me, considering I'm at the end of the line. My "order status" says "pending shipment," but I don't know what that means ...

I just talked to Rapid....they told me that I could order one, but they couldn't guarantee when I would get it. They told me that they are getting shipments in multiple times a week and getting them out just as fast. They told me that if I ordered one, they WOULD NOT charge my card until it shipped.

Interesting. Well, I will keep an eye on my card over the next few days and see if the charge actually appears (as opposed to just reducing my available credit). Their web site does indeed state that they will NOT charge your card until the unit ships, so I will definitely be giving them a jingle if the reverse turns out to be true.

I just put in an order, and used my Visa Check card....and I do see that the available balance went down the amount of purchase. I am sure that it is just an authorization at this point....and it will become available again if they don't process in 3 days.

That's got to be what's happening -- I guess we'll find out soon enough.

On a somewhat related manner, did you receive a confirmation email that contained this information:

Your receiver and/or system will arrive prior to the installation. You must NOT open the box. It is only to be opened by our certified installer.

I did not see anything about *installation* being included with the unit, and in fact, I don't need or want it. I will assume (for now) that this is just some boiler-plate text that goes out with every order.

FINALLY. After 4+ months of waiting with VE. Rapid Delivered in over 1 month. I ordered on May 1. I actually canceled this order but it still stuck. In the end, its all about getting the unit.

Nice Rapid Satellite sold my info to a company that has been calling me over and over since Pegasus filed for chapter 11. They are claiming I will no longer be able to get Directv/Pegasus and I need to switch to Dish Network immediately.

My unit shipped yesterday and should be at my house Thursday. Cant wait. Never had to wait for something this long. I pre-ordered with Value in January but that never shipped and Rapid, I missed the cutoff of the first shipment by hours. I hope its worth the wait and expense.

Now if only DirecTV could increase its HD programming...........

When did you order with Rapid? I have an order sitting with them now. Anyway to see where I am in their queue?

About D* and their HD programming; ever consider getting an OTA? The OTA will deliver a pure unaltered HD signal...

I have an order with them as well. You can e-mail then to ask, but they can not (or will not) tell you where you are in line or when you might get an HDTivo. All they would tell me is "your order is still pending shipment" - no charges on my CC from them, however.

I ordered on May 1 and must have missed the orginal cutoff by hours if not minutes. The unit said shipped last week but actually shipped on Monday (from Georgia) with delivery to Connecticut today. Credit card charged on Friday I believe. So for those that get charged (Value E customers), their units better ship within 5 days. I have a dispute with a vendor that charged me and sat on my order for 9 weeks before I canceled.

How "rapidly" has Rapid responded to emails? I've sent several requests
for information about my order over the past 2 weeks and have received
no response. And this is after they've charged me for the HD Tivo which
they haven't shipped yet.

You can go to the web site, sign into you account and see your order. WHen you go th th tracking part, it will say "pending shipment"

I'm about the same as Wallyj. I'm May 31.

Dogen, I got an e-mail immediately after I ordered mine.

The tracking link on Rapid's site doesn't work for me. I get a complicated error page. I called them about it and they said that my order was in the system, so not to worry about it. I'm not worried, just impatient.

to any of my emails. Tried calling a few times..busy signal. Are they
still in business? All on vacation? I'm getting worried since they were
quick to charge my card.

I would have my eye teeth pulled without Novocaine before I would ever do business with these liars again. Other threads on the dealings with this company (RS) could fill volumes of pages. If you were lucky enough to get one from them, without incident and promised shipping dates you are a rare breed. Those posts from the ones that got them from RS are the only positive feed back to any of the posts on the RS subject on this forum, and it all started from the original post of sobe_knights, who some believe works and maintains most of the positive feed back to any bad press that a lot of forum members have gotten from these liars. Which goes to show you most will deal with ANYONE to get a unit, and in a normal purchase environment anyone pull the stuff that they had pulled on many here in the forum, they would be out of business last month. You have all lowered your standards dealing with this company......just do a search on this forum, and let the buyer beware.

I am one of those who ordered from them due their lying to me. I reported the details in this forum.

Canceled my order after I figured out the I had been lied to and have been a happy HD-TIVo owner from Circuit City since the middle of May.

I cancelled my order with them. I got in on the 6th Ave deal last week and I am up and running. I had thought I would leave the pre-order in place in case I could either pass the extra along to someone here or worst-case put it on fleabay. The "glut" of CC units yesterday convinced me that the flood gates will be opening soon and "everyone" will have units to ship before long. The only issue will be how far back in line you are as to how much longer you will have to wait - but places like BB and CC which do not take pre-orders would be the easiest to get one.

There is also a glut of HDTivos on fleabay as well - 45 at last count, I am thinking that will be a tough place to turn a profit soon (but you never know, there are a lot of idiots on fleabay).

On Wednesday my wife called me all excited thinking she had just scored big. The next day after still see shipment pending she called and got the bad news. Below is her vent to RS.

Words cannot express how disappointed and misled I feel by your ordering process. I realize that the HD Tivo is a "HOT" item, but since your system allowed me to go through the entire process - including adding express shipping - I thought that I had gotten in at a good time. Circuit City is releasing them as they get them, so when I saw "just arrived" on your web site - I thought it was my lucky day. On top of that, even the email confirmation did not state that I was being put on a list. I can barely bring myself to tell my husband; he will be so disappointed that he's not going to have it by the weekend. However, I'm sure he will share his grief on the HD forum that he belongs to; that way other unsuspecting HD Tivo "cravers" won't be misled like we were.

Friday afternoon she caught an open CC window. I think she wore out the F5 key! My TIVO should be here by Wednesday.

I am sorry to hear about everyone's bad experience. Mine was the opposite. I ordered in early May the day someone posted. I received my unit the next week and was, obviously, very happy with them. It's good to see that CC and others seem to be getting a bigger supply. Hopefully soon everyone here that wants one will get it soon.

Which is evident in the MNTivoGuy post. I would post a positive replay too if my experience was (i.e. as all anyone should have expected) to simply place an order, of which you claim you had on hand inventory and were ready to ship in days rather than MONTHS, because you have no INVENTORY, but instead were lied from the get go, and to make matters worse, everyone seems to have been given the same run around that I got, wise up buyers. So fair warning to those who for one second were even contemplating dealing with these slime balls, READ ALL the other negative post on this outfit (Who by the way have no warehouse, they are an outfit that deals out of an office with phones and have no inventory, they use phone operators in Tenn. to get the order, but the company or the OFFICE is in Florida) Just read the other complaints is all anyone could do before you make up your on conclusions, but with that, If you BELIEVED you were dealing with a "AUTHORIZED D* VENDOR", in which even your grandmother could be with the same credentials, and that was in itself was a clear sign that these guys are legit, then I have a Bridge to sell you real cheap, located in Brooklyn! Do yourself a favor, stay clear of these dirt bags........

I cancelled my order yesterday when they admitted to me they had no idea when it would ship. As of today, the hold on my credit card for $1009.98 has NOT been released. If I catch an open CC window before they release that hold (until they do, I don't have $1000 available) and can't order because of lack of funds, I'm gonna be so pissed....

Call them and insist it be released immediately!

Call your credit card company and formally put the transaction into dispute. That should free up your credit.

Even if shipped, refuse acceptance of the shipment either by leaving a note to the delivery person, or just don't open and call the delivery service for FREE return of the package.

Call Rapid and tell them to cancel. Should be no cost...

Rapid did ship on Wednesday after all. Had a suprise FedEx tag on my door when I got home. Went and picked it up. Yay!

It has now been almost three days since I cancelled my order (and was told the $1009.98 hold on my credit card would be released within 24 hours). There is still a hold on my card. I called them up a few minutes ago and bitched. They told me releasing holds takes at least 72 hours, a direct contradiction of what I was told at the time. Guess I'll be calling my bank when I get home from work this afternoon.

Well, this really sucks.

My bank tells me the only way to remove Rapid Satellite's hold on my funds is for Rapid Satellite to call them and release it, with their merchant ID number. And as of 5PM central time, they still haven't done it.

Time to call Rapid Satellite again and raise Holy Hell, since now their "72 hours" figure has come and gone.
