Web Browser For TIVO?

Has anyone ever heard of a web browser for tivo? I ahve been looking and cant find any info if there is any. I have a universal remote from MSN tv that is a keyboard and I thought it would cool if I could sit and surf the net via my wireless broadband connection.

There isn't. I like the idea myself, but it's been shot down when suggested in the past.

The fastest way (though it isn't particularly fast) to get a web browser going on the Tivo would be to port one of the graphical (or text) frameworks used by an existing browser to the Tivo OSD. Something relatively simple like SVGALib, for example, which would let you run Arachne.

Input could be handled with standard USB devices on a Series 2 -- but then you run into the problem that OSD support for Series 2, in the hacking community, isn't fully developed yet. The Series 1, meanwhile, can be displayed to, but has no suitable input methods.

Depending on the protocol used by the keyboard, it MAY be possible to decode the IR with the stock IR decoder on an S1 Tivo.

Isn't there a memory issue there? (Series 1 has what, 16 megs?) Tivo is a dedicated system and not really the best at doing things for which it isn't designed. (Anyone who's had crashes after applying "hacks" knows what I mean.) What happens when you're at a big website and your recorder does an update, or needs to record?
So yes, it may be "possible" to do it, but not practical.
