South Park - Cheap Seats crossover?

So after seeing some posts about Cheap Seats I set the TiVo to check it out and it recorded the spelling bee episode, and just had one of the strangest TV moments ever ...

The spelling bee they're using (1997) has the girl that the South Park guys based the character in "Hooked on Monkey Phonics" episode (season 3) on. Poorly adjusted girl, talking into her hands/sniffing her fingers, long pauses between each letter, odd parents watching from the crowd - all the same. And the kicker - both the real girl (who won the spelling bee) and the South Park girl are named Rebecca. The mannerisms I could take as coincidence, but having the same name?

Gotta' go watch the commentary on the DVD now and see if I can pick anything up there. Anyone else notice this and make a connection?
