Hacking hangs DirecTivo

I've tried several times to hack my DirecTiVo. It is the Hughes DRV40 model. It is running the newest TiVo version.
I've used the Jenkin's TiVo Hack CD and the MFS Tools boot CD. Both tell me everything went OK but when I put the drive back in the DRV40 hangs while booting at the very first screen "wait a minute..."
The only hack that seems to work is restoring my drive from the backup I made first (thank GOD!). I used the MFS Tools to make the small backup image.
I don't know if it is a bios issue. The MFS Tools hack to flash my bios never works. The DVR40 just keeps rebooting itself whenever I install the bios update scripts to the drive.
Has anyone had and resolved this issue before?
Thanks, in advance.

Well,
I was able to install a second drive (80 GB) and that seems to work fine. However, hacking my A drive still gets me no results. The TiVo just hangs on the first grey screen.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Or, is there another tool I can use to get the USB ports enabled?
Thanks,

Has no one any suggestions on how to get my USB ports activated? Is there anyone who has hacked a Hughes DVR40?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Do a yahoo search for:
"monte with sleepers iso"
this will take you to the other/underground forum

Thanks for the tip. Although, I think the sleepers iso is the same as Jenkins TiVo Hack CD? I didn't try the full monte option, though. It sounded a little dangerous from the warnings on the CD and in the readme.
I guess the question is whether or not one of these hacks could render my box un-restorable?
At least I know from my previous forays that restoring does work.

Nothing in software can kill a series 2 box. A series 1 could be whacked by a bad PROM burn, but the PROM in series 2 is not writeable.
There's nothing inherently dangerous in doing monte. It's just a little more work, more to learn.
