What line command do I use to transfer a file from my DTivo to my PC to edit it?

I have a Philips DSR6k using win98 and a serial cable. I am connecting using hyperterminal.

I have to correct some files and I don't like the way that joe editor edits them. The cursor jumps around when deleting lines. So I want to transfer it to pc and use another editor.

If you could access the files via the serial port, one would think there would be an easy way to get shows off the drive onto the computer, too.

Also, blesstivo could work without any screwdrivers.

We can't talk about that here, but consider that the smallest a 30 minute show will typically be is around 500MB, and you're talking about a link that would top out at about 12KB/sec at best. Figure on 12 hours for a 30 minute show, or a long weekend for a movie :) .

 Um, you'd have to put the drive in...
