Just got Hallmark up here and see that they play Magnum each night. By a great twist of timing the first two episodes I got are the finale and then they started back at the beginning.

I of course watched it originally but I was a teenager so there was much distraction and missing of episodes/seasons. :)

Are there any "must miss" seasons that I can bypass? Time to watch is not as frequent as it used to be and keeping up with a series showing 2 a night isn't going to be easy. I managed it for Buffy but hey, its Buffy, she could take Magnum and Giles would kick Higgins' pansy little arse! :D

Anyway, I would appreciate any guidance here!

I used to watch every week, but I can't remember a single plot line, other than the English guy doing everything he could to keep Magnum out of the main house.

Yeah, no spoilers! I thought of watching this show when it was originally on, but I've been waiting 20 years for it to come out on DVD! I really get tired of people spoiling it for us who just want the best viewing possible.

What surprised me th emost was finding out that the actor who plays Higgins is actually Texan! He's not British!

The only episode that I recall with any specificity is the one where Magnum (somehow) gets dumped overboard and has to tread water for like 12 hours. During that time flashes back to both his childhood (where his dad used some tough love to teach him how to swim/tread water - with those lessons obviously coming in handy now) and to his time in Vietnam. It was pretty good, IIRC.

Other than that, all I can recall about the show is how Selleck looked cool in the whole jeans/Aloha shirt/sportcoat getup, how he tucked his gun into the back of his jeans rather than use a holster (which strikes me now as dangerous, but seemed way cool when I was a kid), and that bitchin' Ferrari.

I caught an episode a few weeks ago from a "Danny Nucci" WishList. Good stuff! I remember watching it every afternoon.

Well I decided to do some power watching tonight, its great. Its been long enough that its almost like watching a new series on TV.

I get the two most obvious Casablanca references in the series' set pieces (Rick's restaurant and the ring), does this continue throughout the series? Remember of course that if answering this question requires spoiling a plot point, please tag it!
