Well, I've read the threads and I can't find my idea anywhere else on Suggestion Avenue....

My idea is an extension of the password feature which currently prevents viewing or recording a programme based on content/ratings etc.

Using the password as the "key", it would be nice to block specific shows or even channels, from being viewed and/or recorded, based simply on channel number, or program title or synopsis (like the criteria used for searching). I have found that removing a channel from "channels you receive" does not prevent the channel being viewed; you can punch the channel number on the remote and it is on, even though it does not appear in "channel guide".

The feature would also stop my kids from filling up the drive with junk.
