HMO and Series 1 TiVo

Does anyone know if you upgrade your Series 1 Tivo can you get HMO or does it only work on Series 2 units?

From what I understand it is only for Series 2 units.

I once asked TiVo that exact question via email and was told "No". Only
series 2 units support HMO.

Of Course you Need to Buy a Series 2 Unit. They Need More Money Out the Peeps Who Have Series 1 Units With Lifetime Subs.

It's simple - the Series 1 architecture simply didn't have enough CPU and memory to do HMO, not to mention that there is no factory way to attach the machine to a network. It's no great conspiracy or anything.
