Nip/Tuck anyone watch this series?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: HakonHoy

It just started showing in Norway. Anyone here watch it? I think its a great TV series..

Posted by: LoadStar

This probably would be better suited over in the Now Playing - TV Show Talk forum.

Posted by: dssdbs

Yes, I watched it last season, Season 2 starts on June 22nd

Posted by: jradosh

I dropped it after about 5 episodes. I had real trouble getting used to the one guy's son and how much he looked like Michael Jackson

haha... do you think? I have just seen episode 1 yesterday. I think the one doctor, the one that looks youngest, that had sex with the model in that episode, was funny! I'm looking forward to the second next thursday :)

Like jradosh, I dropped it about halfway through the first season. I have a fairly high tolerance threshold, but the show just evolved into something a bit too sick for my taste. I was somewhat disappointed, as I felt that the first episodes out of the gate were terrific.

I hope you didn't miss Mandi and Randi

Enjoyed the complete first season and am looking forward to the next one.

LOVE IT! can't wait till season 2 starts!

It was pretty good. Looking forward to Season 2.

That doctors son does look like a marrionette or something, it's disturbing .

Posted by: marksman

Yeah I am looking forward to the next season.

I find Nip/Tuck second only to the Shield in originality and it's even more outrageous (I don't have premium channels, so I've never seen Deadwood, Six Feet Under, and the like). And it's such a good looking show. I even agree with the criticism that it's sick, but is that such a bad thing? How can you not love the scene in the store with the shopping basket full of hams? :D

Matt does look odd, but there's a reason:
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
It seems very likely that Matt is Christian's son, not Sean's. First, he looks nothing like his father, and second, his mom got the DNA test. She was about to confront Christian before finding out he got his co-sexaholic friend Gina pregnant, then chickening out.

or that guy on the OC but i don't watch that, only saw previews...my wife says he also could pass for the brother of the old JR chander on all my children but i don't watch that

I TiVoed the whole first season last year and watched it a couple of months ago over the course of three or four days. I loved it and am looking forward to the next batch, which I may watch the same way.

Yeah, the son is creepy and very Michael Jackson. Or maybe I mean Astro Boy.

Do yourself a favor and give nip/tuck a second look. I thought there were more hits than misses in that first season. And...

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
the episode where the woman Sean was having an affair with kills herself (as a permanent solution to her cancer pain)

...is near the top of my all-time Best Hours of TV Ever list, hands down. Just powerful, powerful stuff.

Spoiler edited to correct mistake pointed out below by mitkraft. Sorry for any confusion.

Love the show, and can't wait for Season 2. I have to admit that the first several episodes were very over the top, but it seemed to relax in the outrageousness towards the second half of Season 1.

Posted by: Meinrad

Can't wait for Season 2. I loved this show and have been rewatching Season 1 in preparation for Season 2.

Wife and I also enjoy and are looking forward to new episodes....just a reminder for those with DTVs, change/update your SP for this if you haven't since FX moved to a new channel ID and the SPs didn't follow...

Posted by: mitkraft

EchoBravo: in your spoiler above you said it was Christian, when it was actually Matt - anyone reading the spoiler might find it a bit more eyebrow raising knowing that.

And yes, my wife and I are constantly freaked out by that kid looking so much like Michael Jackson. What's the deal with him? Is he having plastic surgery to look young so he can keep playing young roles or what?

This show does rock, I can't wait till next season. The DVD is out for any of you who missed it and want to rent or buy it.

The show definately is good, but can make you queezy at times. But it's so addictive you just have to watch. I was really surprised at how a non-premium cable show could be so good.

I am a big fan of Nip Tuck... it sort of fills that void of not having Silk Stockings and Miami Vice on the air. The Christian Troy character is pretty much the way most men would act if they could pull it off and live with themselves... thus watching it is kind of cathartic

Loved season one. When dose season two start? After I watched a few episodes last year and talked about it at work and three coworkers got hooked also.

Urm, don't you mean Sean?

I just started watching this show during the re-airs and I'm completely addicted to it. The cast is great and the writing is top-notch.

Yes I did. Thanks for the catch. But you have to admit, it would have raised even more eyebrows it is was Matt!

Yes, it sure would have and the way this show goes they could totally do something like that LOL

Did you do a new SP for it since the guide data changed the FX info regarding the channel? I had to redo mine (as I did with the Shield).

It's worth watching just to be able to look at Julian McMahon!

Posted by: devdogaz

I loved this show last year and can't wait for the new eps. Reading this thread reminds me that I really should have been watching the re-airings of season 1 because I really don't remember alot of the plots. Oh well, I'll catch up soon.

BTW, Nip/Tuck is on the cover of next week's TV Guide and they call it "The Coolest Show on TV"

<sigh> Kind of like when your favorite hometown garage band finally makes it onto MTV. When Jay Leno starts to mention a show, it's time to get out.

Just kidding. Sort of. I liked nip/tuck just under the radar.

Hah! So true. I have a wishlist set up for him and record his episodes of Charmed then just fastforward to his scenes because that show is horrible, but he's terrific LOL

Hey you've just given me an idea! My husband will say "ummm what is this?" LOL

I've been looking forward to the new season after watching last season out of sequence. My wife and I started watching it mid season (we actually thought it was an encore of the 1st season) but found we were watching the entire season out of sequence and are just now filling in the blanks. :)

Posted by: thumperxr69

OK does anyone know why there a 3 first run episodes the first night??? Strange???

T

Posted by: David Platt

It looks like only the first airing has good guide info; the other two airing have generic guide info. Since the TiVo can't tell whether it's a repeat or not, it errs on the side of caution and treats them as first runs.

Nip/Tuck rocks.

I loved the ep where

And the same thing goes for the following week, It has several scheduled to record.

Posted by: devdogaz

Just an update for those (like me) who were unsure about the guide data. Those additional eps that air after the new ep are repeats of the new ep from that same night. However, if you plan to record any of the later airings be warned that F/X tends to get a little lax about the clock late at night so I'd pad those by at least five minutes.
