how would i get a screen name and password?

would it be my tivo'? or what? do i need to sign up for something?

I dont understand your question...if you are referring to the URL to get to the JavaHMO configuration GUI, after the installation simply point your browser to:
http://localhost:8081/configure

As long as you have HMO enabled on you TiVo, you dont need sign up for anything additional to be able to use JavaHMO.

i tried to go through the link you just sent and i get the same thing........
and the same box popped up.

local host
traffic server
user name ?
and password ?

is there somthing i'm missing? how do i enable my tivo on the desk top?

It looks like you have some other server running on port 8081.

The javahmo installation program will increment the port number if it sees that the port is in use but it doesn't change the desktop shortcut to reflect the new port number.

Try changing the 8081 to 8082 instead.
