How about a learning tivo option?

Having just gone through EVERY MANUFACTURER (4-5 Screens to get to and fro) trying to find a frequency match for my TRINITY cable box, and not being succesful, I would suggest having a Learning remote option on the front of the Tivo.
As each manufacturer has their own code and that sort of thing, why not "program" a tivo to learn the buttons of each persons electronics?
On the interface in setup, it could ask that the user push their "channel up/down" button.
That way, when Tivo learns their commands, there's no need for 50 screens and 50 manufacturer codes...
How much more could it cost to have an additional eye? I'm sure it would help to improve "TV MY WAY"...
Let me know what you think...
And if possible, tell me what I can do about my problem of not being able to change channels with tivo...

As I replied in the other thread concerning your problem with the Trinity box, this doesn't solve the problem of getting the right lineup. Since the odd ball third party cable boxes may not map the channels the same as the cable companies box.

In the channels, you "select all" if needed...
so that isnt an issue either...
its a good idea guys, get off the trinity thing, get on the GOOD IDEA...
TIVO I HOPE YOU ARE LISTENING!!!
