Apologies if this has been covered but I did try searching...

How about a "pause" option for season passes? That way you could leave only your _really_ important shows to be recorded while you were away from home to avoid running out of space and wouldn't have to delete and recreate them all when you got back?

I'll second that one. It would also be handy during the summer for avoiding reruns. I have often wanted to suspend a season pass but didn't want to delete it.

The recording option "First Run Only" works nearly as well, I was constantly deleting shows I've seen too many times before until I turned this on for every show. No reruns at all.

The quick fix (one or two 120 MG drives) can be found in the upgrade forum. :)
