Auto PPV ordering

I'd like to be able to set my Tivo to record a PPV movie or sports event without having to order the event separately via my cable box's interface. I'm sure all the major cable companies methods of ordering are known, why can Tivo not send the correct signals to the cable box on it's own?

Too many proprietary methods for ordering PPV over a cable box. If you want this, switch to a DTV TiVo DVR which does it seamlessly.
