Hello All,
I have been reading some of the threads about the setup of a wireless network with TiVo and the Home Media Option... and some of the horror story's.
At this time I would like to get a Wireless G Router and USB G Adapter to setup my Tivo and to connect my laptop. Right now I was looking at the a couple of options:
1. Linksys G router with the microsoft mn-710 usb adapter
0r
2. Netgear G router and Netgear USB G adapter
Does anyone know of any issues with either of these setups?
Thanks in advance!

The most successful ethernet adapter that I have read in the forum is a
Linksys USB200M i believe.
I hear people having problems wiht the Netgear but I dont know what model they were using.
If you can do the wiring in your home, its my opinion, that wired is better than wireless for transfer speeds.

I just networked tivo via the usb200m and it was flawless. I powered down tivo hooked up the ethernet card, turned tivo back on ... and that was it. It used DHCP to grab an IP and the subnet - it was completely hands off.

I didn't even power down my TiVo when I plugged in the ethernet adapter (Netgear FA120, USB 2.0, wired) and it also figured out the IP/subnet on its own and configured itself... awesome.
