any idea what software would interfere with tivo desktop for tivo win xp

Posted by: rsnaider

I have not found any and I have been running the desktop on XP Pro since it was released over a year ago.

Are you using jriver's MediaCenter? This app also provides TiVo access to your media using TiVo beacon...

I've been using for quite a while without a conflict, but I do recall (vaguely) a discussion about some folks needing to uninstall / disable TiVo desktop...

no, but i am using ati tv program in my pc OS XP i wounder if that would conflict with tivo desktop????

Posted by: markp99

Doubtful.

I run a similar ATI TV card (9700 ATI AIW); no issues here...

i have deleted most of the stuff i don't use on this pc and i can't find the program conflict................. Tivo techs have no idea............

Posted by: markp99

Sorry I did not ask before, what is the nature of the conflict??

Firewall software could definitely interfere. I have ZoneAlarm installed on my PC, and it prompted me to allow or deny the Tivo desktop software to act as a server. I allowed it, of course. :)
