The Graham Norton Effect on Comedy Central

Is anybody still interested in the big green poof from Ireland? He's getting his own American show on Comedy Central starting next week, June 24.

The "preview" show last night - it repeats several times this week - was pretty funny. (I'd previously seen most of the clips, which were excerpted from his "across the pond" show.) I've got my SP set up, and I'll be interested in seeing how it "translates."

I saw him on the Daily Show on Friday night I believe... and boy did the crowd not respond to him.

It was fun watching him bomb though.

Yes, I almost mentioned the Daily Show appearance. You're right: That really didn't go very well. It was interesting to see the mix between Norton and Stewart, because while each of them is extremely funny in his own milieu, they really didn't work very well together!

Perhaps the same will be true of Norton and a broader American audience.

His week of shows in NY seemed to go well last year.

I had no intention of watching it and his appearance on TDS confirmed that I wasn't going to watch his show.

The first episode was pretty good, although Sandra Bernhard was a bit too overpowering for him.

My partner would kill for tickets to the show.

Sandra Bernhardt can be really funny or really bad. She was some of both.

However, the real doll scene was hysterical (where she was doing the voice).

yes, this was good typical Graham Norton stuff. I just wish Comedy Central wasn't so bleep happy. Graham would have been better off with HBO or something.
