After checking the option in Manage My Account on-line did you force an additional connection on each box? There is a security token that each TiVo needs inorder to share shows.
If that does not work, tell us a bit more about your network; router type, wired, wireless, etc.

While in now playing press 0 then thumbs down, this will tell you what DVR's are available for MRV and if they are online. If nothing is listed here then you need to force a daily call on each unit as rsnaider said above.

ok i did the 0 and thumbs down and it shows living room and bedroom.
1 says service number
2 says no host found.
i wired the tivos directly together. Links usb 2.0 network adapter and a cat5 cable.
what is this force thing???

If you wired them directly together, then you need a crossover cable.

You would probably also need to hardcode your IP's as you have no DHCP server.

This should help;

is there a differance between this crossover cable and the regular cat5 cable i used?? and how do you hard core the IP's. and i thought this was going to be simple...lol

The cables are different. IIRC pins 3 and 4 are reversed on a crossover cable. This type of cable is only required when you are not using a Router/Hub/Switch.
According to the article link I posted above, your issue is the cable and there is nothing to do with IP's since in your situation each TiVo will generate its own and be able to see the other.

Thanks for your help, i'll go get a crossover cable tomorrow.
