Lousy Monk Guide Data Rant.

My Tivo is trying to record Monk all day today because the guide data is generic. Come on, USA, get with the program. Bah!
Guess I might have to do a "TDS" on it.

I'm presuming USA didn't pick which episodes they'd run until close to today.
Mine's also recording them, which is fine because I didn't see most of these episodes in the first place. TDS?

I noticed this earlier this week and unscheduled them to record. I've noticed guide data problem with Joe Schmo 2, Nip/Tuck, and Monk so far.

Is there a problem with the guide data on JS2? I know in the first show, they didn't have any guide data at all except for the episode number. The first one of the new season works, though it is considered the "same show" as JS1 for season pass purposes...

I noticed that and deleted them out of To Do this morning and the Tivo still recorded a couple of them. Now I find out there is some kind of a guide data problem with the premier tonight so I have to fix that when I get home. Double Bah!

well I don't know if it's a Tivo problem or a guide data problem but I setup a SP for JS2 (first run only) and it wanted to record every episode with all the repeats.

Interesting. Well, JS2 is the same show as JS1 as far as the guide data is concerned. I guess it's counting the repeats as first run...maybe the episode numbers being different is screwing it up? The first year's episode numbers are 1, 2, 3, etc. and the new season is 201, 202, 203, etc.

Ah-Ha! Because my Tivo was recording Monk after Monk without guide data today, on an SP set to KUID, it had reached its KAM limit and so would not record the premier, which does have good guide data. I deleted the old Monks and scheduled the new one. Looks like the guide data for all future eps after today is ok. Glad I checked.

Must be a problem with your TiVo or your SP. Mine is set up as FRO and it's recording ep. 201 tomorrow and ep 202 a week from monday, and that's it; no repeats are being picked up at all.

My problem with it is it was all season 2, which I expected, actually. But I was really hoping for some season 1 episodes (since I haven't had the scratch to buy the DVD set yet) but I knew, in all reality, there probably wouldn't be.
A case of wishful recording. :D
