Anyone get an HR10-250 Manual?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I got my HD TiVo from CC. Ordered on Friday and received on Monday.

Everything appeared to be in the box, and it was sealed, but the manual is for an HDVR2, not for an HR10-250. They have a "How to get started" foldout that is for the HR10-250 and shows the correct connections on the back, but the actual manual shows the back of an HDRV2 and has no information on the HD specific stuff.

Anyone else have the same thing?

Why wouldn't you just use the PDF manual linked here?

unixadm, same here. Wrong manual.

The manual GoodSpike linked to is the wrong manual as well ... try the HR10-250 manual on the DirecTV Manuals page.

My manual was the correct one.

I got the correct manual too.

VE order, Made on 6/7/04, in Mexico.

The manual had some rough edges though

When I got my TiVo from VE dated 4/27 it had the correct data.

My HD10-250 manual was missing pages 89-120. Call to D* was no help.

VE sent a replacement manual by UPS the same day I called them.

Come on Kevin! Anyone who can plan an event in Vegas can surely setup their HDTiVo without a stinking manual!! :D

I don't think I ever read the HDVR2 manual!

I really don't care, except for the fact that I will probably eventually sell this when technology changes just like I am selling a couple of T60's, DSR6000's and HDVR2's now that I got the HD TiVo in hand. I have all original boxes, paperwork, cables etc that I include when I sell it.

I want to have the original manual so that it will fetch more money when I do eventually sell it.

I'm pretty sure I've got the correct manual, but I'm not sure I've ever looked in it. I've been using the pdf.

Kidding? Wouldn't matter to me if it had the original manual. The availability of on-line documentation makes manuals obsolete, IMO.

I got the wrong manual too. I also got two DVI to HDMI cables and no HDMI to HDMI cable. Luckily my TV has a DVI jack. I called Circuit City and they said they'd ship out the right manual and the proper cable. Mine was made in Mexico in June. It looks like they need to get some managers out there who can read English. The good news is that this unit has logos in the now playing list and works great.

Actually, not kidding. I've sold a bunch of TiVos, UTV's and other equipment on ebay. I have found that I get more $$ when I sell a TiVo with original box, remote, cables and manuals than if it is missing anything.

I package things up as if they were new, and people will pay extra for a piece of equipment that has been packaged carefully and comes with all original stuff. (especially if they are giving as a gift)

I opened my box up last night, and it didn't have a manual.

Not even the wrong one.

I won't have any trouble hooking it up, but this is the first time I'm using TiVo.

So I guess I'll print up a manual myself. and spend a LOT of time of these boards. :)
