how does one add a pansat fta receiver to the tivo list of receivers so it can go to the right channel and operate the ir on a sa1 tivo. thanks

You have to somehow learn, or know the IR codes the receiver uses, and make them into slices to upload into the Tivo.
Anyhow, I don't think Tivo supplies guide data for FTA anyway, so really why bother?
