Power Surge

Hey,

I am new to the whole tivo scene, but have done alot of Xbox and PC mods. I recently bought a tivo off ebay that had a power surge. I figure it is the power supply being blown. The guy said it will not power on at all. He also said that sony said they would replace it for 100$. Is there any cheaper way to do this, like buy a replacement power supply myself?

Yep it can be done for less than 100 hundred for DIY'ers.
