So I finally got the HD dish aimed correctly. Now.... is there anything good to watch on the DirecTv HD channels?

(The antenna to try to get off the air stuff is on the way but has not yet arrived... and network tv is kinda worthless til Fall anyway.)

Well, HDNetMovies is OK - mostly cheesy B grade movies from the last 40 years or so. Every once in a while you get a Three Days of the Condor or Robin and the Seven Hoods. Though I like both, neither are what I would call great movies (very good).

ESPN HD is disappointing. The Sunday night game is in HD most times, but SportsCenter is mostly highlights that are not in HD. I would like to see PTI in HD, but the amount of orange on the screen might break the TV (for reference, see any joke about Tony Kornheiser).

Showtime HD is very disappointing as it seems very little of their movies are in HD. Dead Like Me is coming back soon, so that might mitigate it a bit.

HBO HD has a decent amount of programming, including all of their original scripted shows.

And if you live in an O&O area, you would get CBS. The HD on CBS looks awesome, but unfortunately I have seen every episode of the shows I like, so I am waiting for autumn (especially football).

I am in an O&O CBS area, but they still require a waiver so I'm waiting to see if they'll do it (they already denied me for the remote locals on standard def stuff, so I'm not hopeful).
