Cruthcfeild no longer seems to handle Bel.

I am looking for a place to purchase, and the local stores dont care the brand.

I can drive an hour to BB or CC but do they handle them?? I looked on website for both places and could not find them.

Would like to purchase online, but a google search only reveals merchants which I am not familar with.

Anyone know of good (reputable, affordable) place to purchase??

If you are a Costco member, you can buy 3 different Bel models from their online store: the Bel Vector 985, the Bel 946, and the Bel 910 CS. Costco also sells 2 Cobra models.

Any reason for your loyalty for the Bel brand?

Just curious... I have heard that Escort and Valentine are fantastic...

Personally, I have owned a Bel before, and it did right for me...but not sure it would make me specifically seek the brand out if it was difficult to find...

I wouldn't even consider owning a Bell. Escort or Valentine. I don't think I've ever seen a test where Bells have done well compared to those two.

Edit: I just did a search and Road & Track recently tested, and Bell came close. But I couldn't find any test information--just their rankings. I couldn't find the latest Car & Driver test on the web.

I used to have a bel RD that was built into a clip-on curved rear view mirror. I loved that thing. Once it died, I tried to find another but they stopped making them. :(

No reason for blind loyality to Bel, just have owned several and have liked their performance. None quit working they were all stolen.

I dont like the looks or quality of whistler, cobra or uniden.

I have read that valentine was overrated (dont know that it is, but it is out of my price range) and the Escorts I have read very good things about and my go with them if I cant find a Bel that fits my needs and price range. I was trying to keep from spending less than 175.

Well then, the Bel 985 Vector is right in your price range (as is the V-1 at close to $400).

Tell me about being a costco member...........we dont have one close.

I assume that is where the 985 is being sold. The bel website does not list this unit..........

They have a 995 for 299
They have a 965 for 249
They have a 945 for 199

MSRP is why I didnt want to buy direct for Bel.
