I've heard the backdoor to enable 30-sec skip which was in 1.3 (but not 2.0.1) might be put back in for 2.5.

If that's true, it changes the function of the ->| button, and functions exactly like Replay or UTV 30-sec skip.

No, I was just telling you which button would skip 30 seconds after you enabled the backdoor. It skips 30 seconds each time you press it. If that's an accurate description of QuickSkip, then there you go.

It is true that this button is also used for the skip-to-tick feature that is a really-and-truly supported feature of 2.5. I have no idea if you lose skip-to-tick by enabling the backdoor (in 1.3 you lost skip-to-end by enabling the backdoor).

I don't think you will lose skip to tick with the 30 sec skip backdoor. That's because the skip to tick is only activated if you press the ->| button while fastforwarding or rewinding. So it seems reasonable to assume that just like 1.3, you will just lose skip to end, but still be able to use skip to tick.

If that is indeed how it works, that will be great since you wil be able to "skip to end" simply by fastforwarding and then hitting ->| a few times to skip through a few tick marks.

Anyway, that's how I hope it will work.
